The
Curtis Winchester Band (a.k.a. Blues Depot) is a Metro New
York based Rhythm & Blues band, featuring Port Chester,
NY native and resident, Curtis Winchester, (his real name,
not a stage name). Joined by harmonica and rhythm guitar player,
Mark Reuter (Roy-ter) who with Curtis, have worked their blues
show since 1994. Although not an original Blues Depot member,
talented lead guitarist Chris Vitarello, has put his stamp
on the band and it's fan base since he joined in 2003. Bassist
Don Hurta joined the band in 2000 after the "Blues Depot"
hiatus and name change and has been the anchor of the rhythm
section since his arrival. Drummer Eric Perez has played with
Blues Depot and The CWB since 1997 and is one of the more
highly regarded drummers in the area.
Sometimes the CWB will have different local
talent on the show and it would not be surprising to see guitar
stylist, Gil Parris www.gilparris.com, Keyboardist, vocalist
Elliot Bear, guitarist Conor Lyons, vocalist Roxy Perry www.roxyperry.com,
vocalist T-Bone, Saxophonist Eric Merovitch, Bassist Kip Sophos,
Drummer Brian Wolfe drummer Linda Geiger, bassist Bart Richards,
drummer Jim Payne, guitarist Charlie Scott, saxophonist Scott
Harper, keyboardist Jeremy Baum and many more! The C.W.B.
thrives to give it's audiences what they go to the clubs for,
good times and great music. It is not uncommon to see a room
full of people "vibing" & groovin' to the C.W.B.
With an emphasis on variety, the C.W.B. uses rhythm &
blues songs from a wide range of artists and styles, linking
the classic blues of the "Muddy" Waters, Sonny Boy
Williamson era to the contemporary blues of Robert Cray, Eric
Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan. And just to mix it up a little,
Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles, Al Green, Bill Withers and other
soul artists are part of the overall "tone" of the
Curtis Winchester Band Whether it's the Delta sounds to Texas,
Chicago, New Orleans, New York, (of course) and even the "polished"
west coast sound of the blues. The band is energetic, passionate
and fun to be around. When you're ready for good times and
good music, we're ready for you!
